EAST LIVERPOOL - Georgia Mae Wilson, 90, formerly of East Liverpool, Ohio, resident at Friendship Ridge Nursing Home, Beaver Pa., for 1 year. Transitioned from her earthly body to her New Heavenly body on Friday, May 4, 2012.
Born April 29, 1922 in Hopkinsville (Christian County) Kentucky to the Late Willie Mae Leavell Guynn and George Guynn.
Georgia was married to the Late Frank M. Wilson for 41 years.
She was a member of the St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Midland, Pa., until it closed in July, 1996. Georgia then joined Sheridan A.M.E. Church, East Liverpool, Ohio where she served as a Stewardess, Missionary and Senior Choir member until her health failed her. Georgia was very faithful and active to all of her committements.
She also served with the Churches Serving Committee of Midland, Pa., from 1962 until 1996.
She was a very active member of the Ohio Valley Missionary Union where she served as treasurer from April 1968 to April 1989.
Member of the Friendly Eight Club, East Wing Senior Citizen Club until 1998 and she was the last living member of the Henry Wards United Gospel Singers.
Her Precious and Loving Memories are left to be cherised by her loving and devoted cousins and caretakers: Ronail and Minister Glenn Collins, Rochester, Pa., along with their son Artrell R. Allen, who was the apple of her eye.
She is also survived by the following a brother and sister-in-law: Winston (Helen) Guynn of Kokomo, Ind.; three nephews: Marquis Guynn, Michael Guynn and Marshall Guynn all of Kokomo Ind.; stepmother, Ocee Guynn, Kokomo, Ind.,; special cousins: Tonya (Wayne) Bradley and April Bradley of New Brighton, Pa.; special nephew-in-law: John (Runnette) Hosey of Rochester, Pa.; very special friends, Joan and Clinton Smith of Rochester, Pa., Ruby (Robert) Allen, Colliersville, Tenn., Magedeline Wyche, Jo Marva Williams and Charlie Mae Scott of East Liverpool, Ohio.
Per Georgia's request, there will be no calling hours.
There will be graveside service held at 11 a.m. (today) Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the Columbia County Memorial Park Cemetery, East Liverpool, Ohio.
