Raymond D. "Denny" Hooper, 57

WELLSVILLE-Raymond D. "Denny" Hooper, 57, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the East Liverpool City Hospital.

Son of Ruby E. Hooper, of East Liverpool, and the late Arnold G. "Bill" Hooper, he was born October 9, 1954 in East Liverpool.

Denny worked at First Energy's Sammis Plant in Stratton, Ohio where he retired as an instrument and test man.

Denny loved watching nature from the swing on his back porch, he loved camping, fishing and spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Hooper.

Denny is survived at home by his loving wife Diana, whom he met when they were 12 and then later married on June 23, 1973; two sons, Bryan (Darlene) Hooper and their sons, Michael, Matthew and Alex Sosbe of Salem and Kevin (Shannon) Hooper and their sons Aiden and Connor, of Wellsville; a daughter, Jennifer (Shaun) Neubert and her daughter Jasmine DeMaria of Adena, OH.; three brothers, Gary Hooper, of OK., Ronnie Hooper and Randy (Vickie) Hooper, both of East Liverpool and two sisters, Karen Crawford and Lisa (Rob) Penn, also of East Liverpool.

Denny was a good man, loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.

Family and friends will visit Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. - 2p.m. at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester where services will be held Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Diabetes or Kidney research organizations.
