Hancock County Magistrate for 2-19

The following cases were heard by the magistrate court in Hancock County:

Feb. 7

Thomas Whitis Jr., South Sunnyfield, Copley, OH: On the charge of obstructing an officer, the case was dismissed upon the State's motion.

Matthew Cottrill, North Chestnut, New Cumberland: On the charge of domestic battery, the case was dismissed upon and agreed order between the State and the defense attorney.

Rebecca Baker, Stroud Avenue, Weirton: On the charge of domestic battery, the case was dismissed upon the State's motion.

Jennifer McCall, Brady Avenue, Steubenville: On the charge of possession of marijuana, no violations were noted during the probationary period and court costs were paid in full. Case dismissed.

Feb. 8

Carol Yanni, Purinton Avenue, East Liverpool: On the charge of disorderly conduct, no violations noted during the 90 day diversionary period and court costs were paid in full. Case dismissed with State's approval.

Charrity Dean, Hickory Road, Chester: On the charge of disorderly conduct, no violations noted during the 90 day diversionary period and court costs were paid in full. Case dismissed with State's approval.

Samuel Yazevac Jr., Orchard Street, Weirton: Upon the state's motion, the case on the charge of DUI was dismissed and refiled as a citation for reckless driving to which the defendant plead guilty. Fined $500 and assessed court costs.

Daniel Barker, Stroud Avenue, Weirton: On the charge of domestic battery, the case was dismissed upon and agreed order between the State and the Defense.

Feb. 10

Corey Brewer, Clara Street, Weirton: On the charges of malicious assault and wanton endangerment, both cases were waived to the circuit court.

Matthew Critean, East First Street, Minerva, OH: On the charge of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, the case was dismissed due to an indictment.
