EAST LIVERPOOL - A teacher escorted by police from school property Wednesday is under investigation, according to Superintendent James Herring.
Science teacher Phillip Lacey was asked to leave Wednesday afternoon, and police officers were called to make sure he did, walking behind him as he left.
Officials did not answer calls for comment that day, but Herring said Thursday an investigation into misconduct has been launched regarding Lacey. He said the investigation is internal and does not involve police at this point.
Lacey is on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, but Herring said he could not offer any other information about the scope of the investigation.
He was uncertain how long Lacey has been with the district.
