LISBON - The Shale Tavern & Grille on state Route 154 is officially open.
Owned by Naffah Hospitality Group, which also owns the Days Inn motel next door, the restaurant has actually been opened for about a month before the grand opening.
In addition to several other local motels and a banquet facility, Naffah also operates Inner Circle Pizza in Canfield. In a November story about the opening, Michal Naffa said he intended to pattern the Shale Tavern after the Inner Circle, which he described as a combination family restaurant/sports bar with a wide variety of menu options.

According to a news release, The Shale Tavern features ribs, steaks, pork chops and Italian dishes. The restaurant also has an outside patio that will be open weather permitting.
The restaurant employs about 40 workers, while the Days Inn has another 30 employees.
