EAST LIVERPOOL - After recently obtaining the state license, the Giant Eagle along Bradshaw Avenue is now home to a State Liquor Agency.
The agency was located at Crawford's in Dresden Square but relocated to a section of Giant Eagle once used as a cafe, according to Mark Willison, store manager.
"We had beer and wine at the store, but now we are able to offer the high-proof liquors, and we have a wide variety of choices," Willison said.

The downtown Giant Eagle is now the only store located in the area able to offer high-proof liquor.
The beer and wine is still separate and located in its previous spot, Willison said.
As for the liquor agency store itself, Willison said Tammy Simms is the manager, and the store is staffed by existing Giant Eagle employees.
The State Liquor Agency controls and dictates the prices, Willison noted.
"This has been in the planning stages for several months now, and we're certainly glad the relocation has happened," Willison said. "This is just one more thing we can offer our customers that no other business in the area can offer."
The store deals with both the retail and wholesale side of liquor sales.
Right now, Giant Eagle's State Liquor Store is open Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.
Recently, voters went to the polls and approved Sunday sales.
"Once the license get changed, we will be open on Sundays as well," Willison said. The store will be able to sell wine on Sundays as well.
The Giant Eagle is located at 619 Bradshaw Ave. and can be reached by calling 330-385-9845 or 330-385-4757.
