Edison wins tri with Oak Glen and Wellsville

RICHMOND -It was a good day for the Edison volleyball team.

The Wildcats swept a tri-match against Oak Glen and Wellsville Saturday at Edison. The Golden Bears knocked off the Tigers earning Oak Glen a split on the day.

With the sweep, the Wildcats are now 11-5 on the season.

Edison defeated Oak?Glen, 21-25, 26-24, 25-21.

Individually for Edison against Oak Glen, Keely Drabick delivered 16 kills, 10 assists, four blocks, two stuffs and four digs, Mycaela Stewart tallied seven points and four digs and Abby Slussar recorded three digs. Also, Jasmyn Falalsca added five points and seven digs, Kylie Smith chipped in with seven kills and three digs and Caitlin Brenstuhl tallied 14 assists and four digs. Finally, Katelyn Pollock produced three kills and three blocks Hannah Johns scored 12 points to go along with three aces, two kills and one block and Katie Davidson netted nine points, two kills, six blocks and four stuffs.

Individually for the Golden Bears, Emily Frederick contributed 11 kills and eight blocks, Vanessa Hissam had seven points, six kills, 11 blocks and six digs and Payden Eckleberry recorded 16 assists, five kills and four blocks. Also, Morgan Poling picked up seven points, six kills and two blocks, Lacee Porter produced five points, three kills and one block and Abby Tice chipped in with seven points. Finally, Tayler Maxwell tallied 17 assists.

Oak Glen won the JV match, 20-25, 25-18, 25-15.

Edison defeated Wellsville, 25-23, 25-21.

Individually for the Wildcats, Drabick contributed eight points, two aces nine kills and seven assists, Stewart contributed two aces and three digs and Falasca finished with three digs. Also, Smith tallied 11 points, three aces and three kills, Brenstuhl chipped in with 11 assists and one dig and Pollock picked up four kills and one block. Finally, Johns had three kills and Davidson delivered two kills and three blocks.

Edison plays Wednesday against Harrison Central and Thursday against East Liverpool.

Oak Glen defeated Wellsville, 22-25, 25-14, 27-25.

Individually for Oak Glen, Frederick recorded 10 kills and five blocks, Eckleberry contributed 10 points, 11 assists and two kills and Poling produced five points, five kills and two blocks. Also, Porter picked up three kills, Raegan Headley had five kills and Maxwell added 13 assists. Finally, Sydney Kell tallied two kills and 11 points.
