Thomas J. Shust, 71
BLOOMINGDALE, Ohio - Thomas J. Shust, 71, of Della Drive, Bloomingdale, Ohio, passed away at 9:50 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, at Trinity West Medical Center in Steubenville.
Born in East Liverpool on July 23, 1938, he was the son of the late James R. and Helen Martin Shust. A 1956 graduate of East Liverpool High School, he went on to attend Kent State University.
He was a Korean War veteran, serving his country with the U.S. Army. For 25 years, he was the owner and operator of four Century Video stores until his retirement in 2003. At one time, he had been a member of the East Liverpool Elks Lodge No. 258.
Surviving him at home is his wife, Martha Pack Shust, whom he married in 1972.
There are two sons, Randy Shust and his wife, Tracy, of Athens, Ohio, and Terry Shust and his wife, Jennifer, of Wintersville, Ohio.
Four grandchildren also survive: Anderson Jennings Shust, Nicholas Lee Shust, Avery Gareth Shust and Isabella Marie Shust.
Friends may call at the Dawson Funeral Home from 3-6 p.m. Sunday. Services will be held at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Monday, with Evangelist Will Montgomery of the St. Clair Avenue Church of Christ officiating.
Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will accord full military honors.
