COLTON, Calif. - Helen May (Thayer) Johnson, 79, formerly of Wellsville, died at home on December 14, 2009.

Mrs. Johnson was born Dec. 18, 1929, in Fort Scott, Kan., to John and Helen (Harding) Thayer.

She graduated from the Wellsville High School in 1947. She moved from the area in 1965.

Her husband, Charles H. Johnson, preceded her in death.

Survivors include four children, Christina Beard, Bruce Johnson, Shawn Johnson, and Ame Kohler, all of Colton; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, all of Colton; and a sister, Mary Anne Mager of Marana, Ariz.
