East Liverpool Police Reports for 12-19
Joshua Board reported Friday at 1:22 a.m. someone had busted out the front windshield and driver's side rear windshield of his vehicle after he picked up his mother at the Oasis Cafe on St. Clair Avenue.
Kevin Buckel, 27, was arrested during a traffic stop on Dresden Avenue Wednesday at 9:35 p.m. Buckel was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence and driving with illegal plates.
An officer responded to a parking problem on Lincoln Avenue Friday at 1:08 p.m. The officer advised that the vehicle was marked for towing.
Betty Dennis reported her purse and her daughter's purse had been stolen out of her vehicle while it was parked at the YMCA Wednesday at 7:33 p.m.
Christy Green-Dawson, 31, was arrested Friday at 1:46 a.m. for an outstanding warrant. She was also charged with public intoxication and endangering children. Green-Dawson had reportedly arrived at a relative's house on George Street to pick up her son. When the relative reportedly informed Green-Dawson that her son had been sick all day and that it would be better for him to stay overnight, Green-Dawson reportedly refused, taking her son without his coat and shoes. Because Green-Dawson was intoxicated and therefore a danger to her child, the relative pursued her and a physical altercation took place between the two.
An Ohio Avenue resident reported seeing someone "messing around" the house Thursday at 1:07 a.m. An officer responding to the report checked the residence and found all to be secure. The resident requested that officers perform frequent checks on the property.
An Ohio Avenue resident reported Friday at 12:29 a.m. that her juvenile son was drunk and causing disturbances at the home. When officers arrived at the resident the juvenile fled to a residence on George Street. Officers located the juvenile and transported him back home. After discussing the matter with his mother, it was decided that the juvenile should return to the residence on George Street for the night.
An officer responded to 720 Price St. Thursday at 9:13 p.m. because of a report that the resident was threatening to burn the house down. After arriving at the residence, the officer reported that the resident was watching television and appeared to be the only person in the house.
A Shadylane Drive Heights Manor apartment resident reported Wednesday at 12:51 a.m. that several people were standing in the hallway knocking on a neighbor's door for approximately 45 minutes. When an officer arrived at the apartment the resident reported the subjects had fled the scene.
A Blakely Street resident reported someone had kicked in her back door and taken items from her home Thursday at 7:45 a.m.
Michael Kapp, 20, was arrested for warrant service Wednesday at 10:35 p.m.
An officer assisted a lost motorist on Lisbon Street Wednesday at 1:14 a.m.
Barbara Maze, 57, of Ohio Avenue was driving a 2004 Jeep Liberty on state Route 39 East Sunday when she lost control of the vehicle and struck a guard rail. Maze reported that she lost control of the vehicle due to ice on the road.
Mildred Scott, 65, of Maryland Avenue, was driving a 2001 Ford Focus Tuesday when she struck the vehicle of Delbert McClung, 49, of Breckenridge Road, Vincent, Ohio. McClung was stopped for a red light at the Pennsylvania Avenue and Lee Road intersection at 2:38 p.m. when Scott struck his vehicle from behind. McClung was driving a 2006 FRHT Columbia. Both vehicles were insured.
A welfare check was requested at a Price Street residence Thursday at 11:52 a.m.
Amber Mellot, 31, of Alderlick Road was driving on Lee Street Wednesday when she failed to stop for traffic backed up at the Lee Street and Dewey Avenue intersection. Mellot was driving a 2009 Ford Escape on Lee Street when she struck the rear of a 2002 Honda Civic driven by Donald Mackey, 61, of Pickering Street. Mackey's vehicle was pushed forward by the collision causing his vehicle to crash into the rear of a 1995 Ford Ranger driven by Wayne Tate, 35, of Wellsville. All three vehicles are insured.
An officer responded to North Elementary School Thursday at 12:29 p.m. after a child threatened to harm himself. Northstar Ambulance was notified and the child was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital for observation.
