Columbiana County Municipal Court for 12-15
In Columbiana County Municipal Court, Andy G. Quimby, 27, state Route 154, Lisbon, was sentenced to 90 days in the county jail for possessing criminal tools and criminal trespassing.
Quimby received mandatory credit for six days already spent in jail, and a hearing is scheduled for Dec. 21 to determine whether he should be sentenced instead to educational alternative program. He was also fined $200.
His accomplice, Floyd W. Brooks, 47, last known address of Battle Creek, Mich., was also sentenced to 90 days in jail, with credit for 12 days served, for theft and criminal trespassing. He was also fined $150.
Like Quimby, a hearing is scheduled for Dec. 21 to determine whether Brooks should instead be sentenced to an education alternative program.
In other court action, Nicholas R. Mohr, 26, East North Avenue, East Palestine, pleaded innocent to OVI and speeding; pretrial Dec. 25. Mohr was cited by East Palestine police at 1:06 a.m. Thursday.
William A. Duck, 49, Sines Road, Wellsville, pleaded innocent to OVI and failure to control; pretrial Jan. 25.
Frank L. May, 48, Richardson Avenue, Negley, was fined $705 and his license was suspended for six months after being found guilty of OVI-first offense and failure to drive within marked lanes. A 20-day jail sentence was also imposed but doesn't have to be served until May 5. A hearing is scheduled for May 4, at which time the judge is likely to suspend the jail sentence.
Jason R. Bogart, 27, Sines Road, Wellsville, pleaded innocent to OVI, failure to control and improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle; pretrial Jan. 26. Bogart was cited by the highway patrol following a one-vehicle accident in Yellow Creek Township at 10:47 p.m. Tuesday. Bogart had a concealed-carry permit, but the handgun was lying next to him on the seat.
A hearing is scheduled for April 15 to determine whether John A. Knight, 44, of Girard, violated his probation on a domestic violence charge from 2008.
A Jan. 4 pretrial was set for Cleveland King III, 39, Youngstown, charged with driving under suspension.
A Jan. 26 pretrial was set for Brian Jeffers, 22, 1025 Waterford Road, New Waterford, charged with driving without a valid license and assured cleared distance.
A wrong way on a one way street charge against Benjamin Roth, 22, 33 Main St., Leetonia, was dismissed.
