Lois Maxine Moore, 86

NEGLEY - Lois Maxine Moore, 86 of state Route 170, Negley, died at East Liverpool City Hospital on Friday, Dec. 4, 2009. Born on July 7, 1923, on Moore Street in East Liverpool, she was a daughter of the late William Alfred and Laura Luellen (Wolfe) Merchant.

Living her entire life in this area, she was a 1941 graduate of East Liverpool High School. She loved to read, play golf, bowl, play cards and go on trips to Atlantic City. Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a special sense of humor that she carried with her through life, even to the end.

Her husband, Robert Frank "Zeke" Moore, died on Feb. 13, 2001. They were married on Aug. 29, 1960.

One son: David Joseph Moore and his companion Jolene Ulrich of East Liverpool; one step-son: Robert G. Moore of Lansing, Mich.; two daughters: Tammy Lamp and her husband William of Negley and Becky Nusser and her husband Terry of Flemington, N.J.; one sister: June McVay of East Liverpool; six grandchildren: Michael Nusser and his wife Shannon of Flemington, N.J., Melissa Lingard and her husband Matthew of Droitwich Worcestershire, UK, Carrie Cookson of Amsterdam, Province of North Holland, the Netherlands, and her husband Alan of Flemington, N.J., Zachary Moore and Hunter Moore both of East Liverpool, and a special granddaughter, Shannon Lamp who lovingly took care of her; six great-grandchildren: Alyssa Nusser, Cailyn Nusser, Solomon Lingard, Wade Lingard and Theodore Lingard; as well as her furry companions: Nicky, Zeus, Manthers and Meesha survive her.

Besides her parents and husband, two sisters: Linda Dayle Gilleard and Dorothy Pauline Merchant, preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her cousin, Edwin M. Knowles.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dave Peterson of the LaCroft Church of the Nazarene officiating.

Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park.

The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
