Driver of Rogers accident taken to Pittsburgh hospital
Staff ReportsLISBON - The Ohio State Highway Patrol on Friday released the name of the woman who was transported by medical helicopter Thursday to Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Kathleen Persohn, 62, Summerset Road, East Liverpool, had been driving west at 2:40 p.m. Thursday on Sprucevale Road in Middleton Township when she failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection with state Route 7 and her vehicle struck a southbound vehicle driven by Charles Pickens, 70, Clarkson Road, Rogers.
Persohn was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries and was flown from the hospital to Pittsburgh.
Pickens was transported to St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, with non-life-threatening injuries. His wife, Frances Pickens, 72, was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
All three people were wearing seat belts and front airbags deployed for all three people.
