Oak Glen's Collins named all-state

BECKLEY - Oak Glen's Megan Collins was selected to the West Virginia Class A-AA All-State girls soccer team. Collins, a freshman forward, was selected to the second team. Teammate Haley Powell was given honorable mention.

Oak Glen Touchdown Club meeting

NEW MANCHESTER - The Oak Glen Touchdown Club will be holding a meeting, which will include elections for next year, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. It will be at the high school cafeteria. All football parents are asked to attend.

OG baseball "Bat-Around" Sunday

CHESTER - The Oak Glen baseball boosters are sponsoring a "Bat-Around" Dec. 6 and 13 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Chester City Building. All current and future players are encouraged to attend. For more information, contact coach Lou?Nagy at 304-387-2044.

OG basketball boosters meeting

NEW MANCHESTER - The Oak Glen basketball boosters will be holding their monthly meeting today at 6 p.m. in the multipurpose room at the high school. All parents of boys and girls basketball players are urged to attend.

OGHS basketball alumni games

NEW MANCHESTER - The Oak Glen High School basketball boosters will be holding fundraiser alumni games for both men and women Jan. 8 at the high school. The women's game will start at 6 p.m. with the men's game to follow. Oak?Glen basketball raffle

NEW MANCHESTER - The Oak Glen Basketball Boosters are selling raffle tickets for a $1,000 Wal-Mart gift card. Drawing based on the West Virginia 3 digit daily number drawn Dec. 4. To purchase a ticket, contact any member of the boys and girls basetball teams or Phil Rujak at Oak Glen High School.

Wellsville to scrimmage Salem

SALEM - The Wellsville High School varsity and junior varsity teams will be participating in a Foundation charity game today beginning at 6 p.m. at Salem.

Turkey shoots taking place

WEST POINT - Turkey shoots take place noon every Sunday at the West Point Rod and Gun Club, state Route 518, across from Carney's Service.

Potters hoops tickets on sale

EAST?LIVERPOOL - The home portion of the East Liverpool High School 2009-10 basketball season - begining Dec. 8 against Youngstown East - features 10 total games at Potter Fieldhouse, including the annual holiday tournament. Cost for preseason purchase of tickets is $50 for adults and $30 for senior citizens and students. Parking passes available, first for those who reserved spots last year, for a cost of $30 for the upper lot and $20 for the North Elementary lots. Handicapped parking limited and free of charge, but on a first-come, first-served, nightly basis. No passes issued for handicapped parking. Season tickets may be purchased 6-8 p.m. Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at the high school office area (not the fieldhouse).

Southern winter passes available

SALINEVILLE - The following winter passes are available for purchase at Southern Local Jr/Sr High School: adult girls basketball, $45; adult boys basketball, $45; student pass, $20; athlete pass, $10; high school family, $125; junior/senior high family, $170; junior high; $15 Senior Citizen passes for those living in the district are available at the superintendent's office.

Southern Athletic Hall of Fame

Salineville - The seventh class of the Salineville-Southern Athletic Hall of Fame has been announced. Members will be introduced Jan. 15 at the boy's basketball game. This will be done between the reserve and varsity games. A breakfast will be held in their honor Jan. 16 at 10 a.m. Tickets for the breakfast are $10 and may be purchased at the high school. The induction ceremony will be in the high school cafeteria. Questions may be directed to Debbie Boyd at 330-679-2305 ext. 212. Congratulations are extended to:?John Gruszecki (1931Athlete/Contributor-Posthumously); George Wilson (Athlete 1955 Posthumously); Larry Kessler (Athlete Class of 1959); Angel Bogart Chamberlin (Athlete Class of 1979); Dan Saling (Athlete 1981 Posthumsously).

Cardinal Boys Basketball Classic

CANFIELD - The Cardinal Boys Basketball Classic for grades five through six is Jan. 8-10 and 15-16. The championship game will be held Jan. 17. Keystone Soccer seeks players

YOUNGSTOWN - Keystone Soccer Academy is accepting players to train throughout the winter months, playing in the spring. Age groups range from age 8 through high school.
