EAST LIVERPOOL POLICE FOR 11-23

Nov. 20

At 11:22 p.m. Loretta M. Sheffield, 52, called from the Potters Club at 226 West Sixth St. to report that someone had slashed one front tire of her vehicle. Sheffield stated that the incident occurred between 7:45 p.m. and the time she called.

Nov. 21

At 1:07 a.m. an officer observed a fight at the corner of Dresden Avenue and Ninth Street while on patrol. The officer observed that three unnamed men were involved in the fight. One man stated that the second man had pulled a knife on him, while the second man stated that the first man needed to pull his pants up. The officer cautioned the second man about the number of confrontations he has been involved in and the three men were sent their separate ways.

At 1:44 a.m. an officer was dispatched to 1900 Michigan Street for a report of a fight. Upon arrival, the officer was met by Warren Garwood, who stated that his brother, Joseph Garwood, had been assaulted by an unnamed woman and her boyfriend, James Howell III, 25.. The officer observed that Joseph had a large wound on the back of his head which Joseph stated was caused by being struck with a brick. An unnamed female witness stated that she had observed the unnamed woman strike Joseph in the head with the brick. Joseph was transported to the emergency room by ambulance. The officer then observed that Howell appeared to be highly intoxicated and was advised to leave or he would be arrested for disorderly conduct. Howell refused to leave, at which point he was transported to the police department.
