Four locals named to first team All-District

The Tigers and Bulldogs placed two players each on the first team of the Northeast Inland All-District football team.

Wellsville's Bubba Dowling and Jeremy Carter were both named to the Div. VI first team defense.

East Palestine's Shane Peterson was named to the first team offense in Div. V, while teammate Ben Gysin was selected to the first team defense.

Carter, a senior, led the area in rushing with 1,239 yards and 11 touchdowns as the Tigers finished the season 7-3. Carter also had 384 yards passing and five touchdowns. Carter was recognized for his play at defensive back.

Dowling, also a senior, was selected as a linebacker. Dowling also had 353 yards rushing and four touchdowns.

Peterson and Gysin helped lead the Bulldogs to a 7-4 record, as the team advanced to the playoffs.

Receiving honorable mention in Div. V was East Palestine's Shane Jurjavcic and Jake Gazzetti, as well as Lisbon's Kyle Weinstock.

In Div. VI, Wellsville's Nick Broughton and Brandon LaClair were given honorable mention along with Southern's Brya
