Elementary school principal leaves Edison school district
By JULIE GHRIST (Special to The Review)RICHMOND - The resignation of Pleasant Hill Elementary School Principal Dana Snider was accepted by Edison Local board members during Thursday's meeting.
Snider's resignation takes effect Dec. 1, as she will be making a transition to the Harrison Hills City School District where she will serve as administrative assistant. She explained her duties will entail being in charge of special education, state title money, preschool affairs and building and grounds matters.
Snider has been with Edison Local for the past eight years.
Stepping into her position will be Stephanie Blundon, currently the assistant principal at Springfield Middle and Stanton Elementary schools.
The board accepted Blundon's resignation from her current position during Thursday's meeting as well. Her last day will be Dec. 1.
Board members, including Karen Taylor, thanked Snider for her service with the district.
Taylor commented Snider has "always done everything asked of her" and will "be missed greatly."

Viewed PowerPoint presentations created by fourth-graders at Pleasant Hill, who are performing tasks regarding technology for the 21st century.
Approved a three-year contract for Joe DeBold, transportation and building and grounds supervisor.
Approved Gayla Payne as a bus driver effective Dec. 1.
Accepted a letter of resignation from Wendy Howell, track coach at Springfield.
Approved a supplemental contract for Mary Ann Hoobler as eighth-grade girls basketball coach.
Approved supplemental contacts for Dave Marshall, seventh-grade girls basketball coach, and Phyliss Barker, fall and winter cheering, Springfield.
Approved the following as additions to the substitute teaching list: William Krach, Brianne DiBacco, Katherine Hess, Amy Flesher, Tina Hummer, Mary Mason, Lauren Turkovich, Brian Anderson, Steven Eft, Jennifer Swearingen and Cathy Zimmer.
Approved an agreement with the Jefferson County Community Action Council to provide a classroom at John Gregg Elementary School to be used by the CAC's Head Start program for the school year.
Approved a beverage agreement with Pepsi Americas commencing July 1 through June 30, 2014.
