CHESTER - Thomas Howard Parsons, 84, of Stone Pear Pavilion, The Orchards at Foxcrest, died at 7:40 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 2009.
Born March 27, 1925, in East Liverpool, he was a son of the late John V. and Mary B. Parsons.
A 1944 graduate of Wellsville High School, he was in the graduating Class of 1950 at Adrian College in Adrian, Mich.
A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving from 1944 to 1946, he retired Dec. 31, 1982 from the former Crucible Steel Co. where he had been supervisor of cost and budget in the accounting department.
He was a member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in East Liverpool and the Deertrails Golf Club of Industry, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hays Parsons, whom he married Dec. 17, 1950.
Also surviving is his daughter, Vicki Coalmer and her husband, Timothy of Calcutta.
There are two grandchildren, Chad Coalmer and his wife, Melissa, of Sterling Heights, Michigan, and Cara Lomas and her husband, Mathew, of Geneva, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were two sisters, Ruth H. Campbell and Mary V. Fitton.
The Rev. Tanta Luckhardt-Hendricks of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church is to conduct services at the church at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Friends may call at the Dawson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Burial is to be at Riverview Cemetery.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made in the form of donations to Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, 767 Park Blvd, East Liverpool, Ohio 43920.
