COLUMBIANA COUNTY SHERIFF FOR 11-17
An official at Beaver Local High School reported Friday finding a suspicious letter on a desk written by a male student. The letter read, "In death, you find life, but what do you find in life? Nothing but death." The boy said the passage was for a book he is writing. The school is going to meet with his parents.

A deputy was called to the Butler Mobile City, U.S. Route 62, Salem, at 4:52 a.m. Sunday to stand by while an ambulance was summoned to transport someone to the hospital.
A deputy found Rachel Schreffler walking along state Route 154 in Middleton Township at 3:45 a.m. Sunday. Schreffler said she and her boyfriend were heading home from the Side Door in Salem when they began arguing and he dropped her off and she had no idea where she was. The deputy gave Schreffler a ride home to Salem.
A report was received of a suspicious vehicle parked in a driveway on state Route 7, Columbiana, at 1:17 a.m. Sunday, but everything turned out to be fine.

A report was received of a suspicious motor vehicle on Pine Hollow Road, Elkrun Township, at 12:18 a.m. Saturday. The caller said the vehicle was in a field and spotlighting, but the vehicle was gone by the time a deputy arrived.
Wayne Wickline, Lusk Lock Road, Elkrun Township, reported at 4:13 p.m. Sunday there was a suspicious vehicle trespassing on private property. A vehicle matching the description could not be found.
A deputy found Clifton Jevek and Robert Reynolds walking on Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, at 10:39 p.m. Saturday. The men said they were going to walk to Salem, but since it was night and it appeared they had been drinking, the deputy had them make arrangements for someone to give them a ride home.
The former West Elementary School, U.S. Route 30, East Rochester, was broken into twice last week. The first time, someone emptied all of the fire extinquishers in the building. The second time they stole the brass door knobs and computer wiring.
Rachel Hopkins, Steubenville Pike, Lison, reported Friday receiving threatening phone messages from an unknown caller.
A deputy was called to the home of Regina Seigler, Sell Road, Lisbon, at 8:50 p.m. Thursday and stood by while her sister removed her belongings.
