On Oct. 26, at 4 p.m. the officer was informed by Dustin Marino that the four-wheeler was located at Price Sreet. Also missing from the four-wheeler was a grip, a tank hose, and a key. An officer responding to the scene questioned next door neighbor Judy Beckwith, who admitted that both she and Backus had been in several previous disputes regarding her dog attacking his dog. Beckwith said that Backus had previously made comments to her and her family members about a female threatening him. The officer gathered written reports from Backus and Nichole Roberts, one of this other neighbors. The officer advised Backus that charges could be filed against residents making threats, as well as filing a protection order against the unidentified neighbor making threats in order to prevent further disputes.
