ST. CLAIR POLICE FOR 11-12
Nov. 4
At 5:51 p.m., officers received a call from an East Liverpool Road resident that her son, Richard Powell, 21, had threatened to kill her and was walking to the residence from Lisbon Street. The mother, Barbara Powell, stated that her son called her and threatened to harm her. The officers on duty told Barbara how to file a protection order. After clearing the call, Richard was found walking along East Liverpool Road. Officers discovered that Richard had a bench warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody.
At 6:55 p.m. a man came on station to report that his Visa card number had been used three times at the Glenmoor Marathon on Y and O Road without his prior knowledge. The man stated that all three purchases were made Nov. 4 at the gas station for a total of $185. The account was closed and bank security is investigating the incident.
Nov. 5
At 10:42 a.m. a caller reported that his Kelly Avenue home had been broken into and items were removed. A report was filed and the incident remains under investigation.
Nov. 6
At 5:05 p.m. an officer was dispatched to K-Mart in Calcutta for a report of a male shoplifter. Upon arrival, the officer was met by a store security officer, who reported that the man, later identified as Michael Guappone, 41, was standing at the jewelry counter. Guappone then walked to the sporting goods area of the store and took several items from the shelves, then wandered the store while he took the items from their packages and hid them in his coat, then exited the store. Once outside the doors, security officers stopped Guappone and requested that he hand the items over, which he did. Police were then called and a patdown search of Guappone was performed, revealing several rings in his coat pocket, which Guappone admitted were from the store. The officer then transported Guappone to the station, where he was processed and released. Guappone was scheduled to appear in East Liverpool Municipal Court on Nov. 9.
Nov. 7
At 9:33 a.m. a Berkshire Road resident came on station to report that some damage had been done to his yard and a tree. The man also stated that he found an Ohio license plate by the tree that had been damaged.
At 11:05 a.m. officers received a report that one of three white males who had been walking in the middle of state Route 267 near Junkyard Bend had pointed a gun. Liverpool Township police were also notified of the incident. The males were sighted at 2738 Lisbon St., where one was taken into custody by Liverpool Township police.
Nov. 8
At 5:39 p.m. officers received a call that the wife of Annesley Road resident Brian Stowers was at the residence making threats. The woman, Davena A Stowers, agreed to follow the officer on duty back to the police station.
