Vincent Straight, 57, 202 Sarah Blvd., Toronto, was southbound on state Route 7 in Fairfield Township at 1:05 p.m. Saturday when a tree near the edge of the road, which was being cut down by two Columbiana men - Lee Davidson, 25, 2109 state Route 7, and Jonathan Cook, 134 S. West St. - fell on Straight's vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Richard Ketchum, 29, 1115 Wova Road, Mechanicstown, was northbound on Hull Road in Wayne Township at 7:30 p.m. Thursday when he struck a deer attempting to cross the road.
Timothy Dalrymple, 50, 15445 Cannons Mill Road, East Liverpool, was northbound on state Route 7 in Middleton Township at 5:50 a.m. Thursday when he struck a deer crossing the road. The deer bounced off Dalrymple's car and struck a southbound Schwebels Bakery Truck driven by Emil Lilak, 28, Brookfield.
Helen Shelby, 60, Canton, was northbound on Rochester Road in West Township at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday and struck a cow in the roadway. The vehicle went off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree. Both Shelby and her passenger, Harold Gray, 62, Canton, had minor injuries. Shelby was transported by Bartley Ambulance to Aultman Hospital. The cow, owned by Ashley Lacey, 6244 Rochester Road, was killed on impact.
Pratik Patel, 21, Northfield, Ohio, was southbound on state Route 11 in Fairfield Township at 12:59 a.m. Saturday when he struck and killed a raccoon crossing the road.
