A deputy was called to the Chester Hoist Co., state Route 45, Lisbon, at 3:22 a.m. Monday, where they found Corey Libert, who said he had an argument with his wife and was walking toward a friend's home on Eagleton Road. After a passing motorist almost struck him, Libert said he decided to stop at Chester Hoist to ask for help. The deputy gave Libert a ride to his friend's house.

A deputy was called to a home on Eagleton Road, Lisbon, at 2 a.m. Saturday, where Brad Norton said a fight had broken out at a party held at the residence. The people reportedly involved in the fight left prior to the deputy's arrival.

A suspicious motor vehicle was reported in the 11000 block of Echo Dell Road, Rogers, at 7:16 p.m. Sunday. A deputy didn't find any vehicle matching the description.

Bob Clewell, Clewell Drive, Guilford Lake, reported at 6:52 p.m. Sunday a vehicle at a neighbor's residence next door to his campground was on his property and the driver deliberately spun his tires. The neighbor said the car belonged to his daughter's boyfriend and he didn't know he was using a private lane but he would tell him.

Garrett Case, U.S. Route 62, Beloit, reported Sunday several items were stolen from his lawn.

Laura Chis, Homeworth Road, Homeworth, reported Sunday she believes someone may have been in her garage. Chis said she was awakened by her dog barking at 4 a.m. and later discovered the garage door open. She was unsure if anything was missing.

Scott Haney, 22, North Shady Lane, East Liverpool, was charged with violating a protection order for reportedly going to the home of Jessica Grimm, state Route 39, Wellsville, at 10:29 Sunday. Grimm said Haney shoved her and held her down while someone else tried to load the children into a vehicle. Grimm said she managed to break free and they tried to run her over, but she threw a brick at the car in self defense. Grimm said Haney exited the vehicle armed with a knife and reportedly threatened to kill her. He then threw the knife down and left.

Don Mohr, South 12th Street, Beloit, reported Tuesday he returned home the evening before to find his home had been entered, but he is unsure if he left the door unlocked. Mohr reported $100 was taken from his wallet, but not his wallet, as well as a prescription bottle of oxycontin.

An official with Ohio Construction Services of Canton reported Tuesday a Porta-John was stolen from a work site on Tower Road, Butler Township.

William Wells, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, reported Tuesday being the victim of identity theft, with someone removing $2,500 from their bank account.

Someone reportedly drove through the ballfields behind the former West Elementary School building, U.S. Route 30, East Rochester.

A deputy was called to a home on U.S. Route 30, Minerva, at 1:55 a.m. Sunday, where Amy Fortune reported arguing with her boyfriend, Adam Rose, 29. Rose said he was going to leave on foot but appeared intoxicated and admitted to having been drinking. Minerva police said they would give him a ride home, but Rose refused. Rose continued to refuse even after being told he would be arrested for his own protection if he insisted on walking away. Rose was arrested for disorderly conduct and taken to the county jail.

Crystal Hildrebrand, Campbell Road, Hanoverton, reported Wednesday her husband accidentally left the keys in their pickup truck overnight and the keys were stolen, along with an envelope containing a $20 rebate check.

Michael Blaha, 49, of McKees Rock, Pa., was charged with misdemeanor theft on Tuesday at the Rogers Sale after he reportedly purchased a bicycle and wooden ladder for $310 but loaded the items into his truck without paying for them. Sale officials believe Blaha and others in his group have stolen $2,000 in merchandise in this manner over the years.

Melanie Blough, state Route 9, Hanoverton, called for a deputy at 9:22 p.m. Tuesday after hearing a tapping sound at her rear door and then door knob turning. Blough looked out the window and saw someone dressed in black and wearing a mask. She then activated her car alarm and the suspect fled. Blough's father said he followed a set of footprints through the yard into a field.

An official with the Act One group home on Union Ridge Road, Middleton Township, called Tuesday to report one of her employees received a threatening text-message. She believes it came from an ex-employee who recently quit. The message said, "Tell your boss it's on. If she wants to lie to unemployment the gloves are off."

n Joanne Williams, state Route 39, Wellsville, reported Tuesday a work crew installing a waterline along the road parked a backhoe in her property and dug a deep hole in her yard, damaging her french drain. The construction company said it had permission to be on the property, which Williams denied was the case.
