The Review

Responding to a report of a large fight on Dresden Avenue at 1:35 a.m. Wednesday, officers found about 10 people throwing punches in the street. One was holding a weed trimmer, according to officers, who said several of them fled as they approached. A woman indicated all had been drinking, including some juveniles who included her 17-year-old son. When officers asked her name, her son reportedly yelled profanities at them and tried to run into the house. An officer grabbed at the hooded shirt he was wearing, and the boy reportedly turned and tried to punch the officer, who dodged, taking the boy to the ground. The teen-ager reportedly kept threatening officers and saying he was going with them because he "has a baby on the way." At the police station, he calmed down and was released to his mother after paperwork was completed.

The owner of 7Suds Laundry, Seventh Avenue, reported the business entered and items stolen. Officers reported a large amount of blood at the scene which they said indicated the intruder had been cut during the entry.

Lora Y. Hughes, Saint George Street, reported her home broken into by someone forcing open the door. Stolen were a television, Playstation system, Pakistani knife and $20 in change.

Officers responded to a report of a couple arguing on Pennsylvania Avenue and found the woman had suffered a cut by accident which prompted an argument over whether she should go to the hospital. An officer transported her to the emergency room.

Brandy R. Wells, 29, Saint George Street, reported applying for employment online with a company in the United Kingdom which asked her to process U.S. Postal money orders by cashing them, keeping 10 percent and sending the rest to a Chinese address. An area bank cashed the money orders and Wells followed the instructions then learned from the bank they had been counterfeit, with the bank wanting reimbursed for the $5,000 paid out. Information has been forwarded to the U.S. Postal inspector.

Krislyn Conrad, Wilbert Avenue, reported someone she knows cut four tires and broke out the windshield on her vehicle.

Nathan Boyd, Ephraim Street, reported his uncle's storm door glass broken.

A black wallet containing miscellaneous documents, a Chinese jade and a $1 bill was reported lost by Wei Chun Yan, Vine Street. Officers will call if anyone reports finding the missing wallet.

Lottery tickets were reported stolen from Gina's Drive-Through, Pennsylvania Avenue.

Michael G. Malone, no address listed, reported a tree fell at Pennsylvania Avenue and Mulberry Street, striking his truck.
