Columbiana County Sheriff for 10-25

Brian Wallace, Osbourne Road, Madison Township, reported Wednesday afternoon being threatened by an employee of a contractor working along Osbourne Road. Wallace was standing along Osboune Road along with township Trustee George Crews and videotaping the work being done when the employee told him to leave and threatened to smash the camera. The worker then reportedly lunged at Wallace.

Several vehicles were entered and items stolen while parked at the Crestview High School parking lot on Wednesday. A security camera showed two white males wearing hooded coats with the hoods up were the ones responsible. A list of victims will be provided.

Leah Ketchum, Hazel Run Road, Hammondsville, reported Wednesday two withdrawals totaling $623 were made by Direct TV from her bank account and she has never subscribed to Direct TV.

A deputy was asked to check on the welfare of a person living on Hunters Camp Road, Lisbon, at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday. Everything was found to be fine.

Chuck Beiling reported Wednesday ATV riders rode through his hayfield on Davner Road, Elkrun Township. The trail led to a neighboring property, where a man said he believes his daughter and her boyfriend were responsible.

David Ranangett, Yeager Drive, Madison Township, called for a deputy at 11 a.m. Wednesday because three cows were loose on his property. Ranangett located the cows' owner by the time the deputy arrived.

A corrections officer at the county jail allegedly was assaulted by inmate James Lippiatt on Oct. 18. Lippiatt was kicking his cell door and yelling about a microwave when the officers opened the door to see what the problem was. Lippiatt, 20, of West State Street, Salem, proceeded to punch one of them in the face and spit on him. Lippiatt was wrestled to the ground and subdued. Lippiatt reportedly injured his head on the cell doorway. The report has been sent to the county prosecutor's office.

Geraldine Miller, Hillcrest Road, Wellsville, reported Thursday finding a hole in their swimming pool liner and it appears to have been made by a .22-caliber bullet.

Nicole Pyles, Pancake Clarkson Road, Rogers, reported Thursday her purse was stolen overnight from her pickup truck.

A report was received of a suspicious vehicle parked on Bonesville Road, Leetonia, at 11:43 p.m. Thursday. A deputy found a woman in the vehicle, and she told him she was trying to catch her cat, which was in a wooded area.

Matt Henderson, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, reported Thursday his chickens were attacked by his neighbor's dogs. The neighbor said his dog was loose but it didn't attack the chickens. A copy of the report will be forwarded to the county dog warden's office.

Russell Carnes, Lisbon Street, Hanoverton, reported Thursday a flower plant was stolen from his property by a neighbor. The property had just been sold.

Bill Harstine, state Route 172, Hanover Township, called for a deputy at 8 a.m. Thursday after his neighbor placed picnic tables and a vehicle on a county road that goes back to his property. The deputy told the neighbor to remove the items and warned both parties the next time the vehicle would be towed at the culprit's expense.

William Thomas, Steubenville Pike, reported at 12:40 p.m. Friday that a revolver was missing from his home, and he had last seen it on Oct. 18. He said he believes he knows who took it and asked the person, who said he did not take the gun. Thomas does not know the serial number on the gun.

A North Jefferson Street, Lisbon, man reported at 12:54 p.m. Wednesday that someone had taken four tractor batteries, five front end weights and a fertilizer spreader from a farm he owns on Applegate Road in Madison Township.

Veronica McNamara, Uniontown, reported at 10:19 a.m. Oct. 16 that someone had taken 59 National Football League jerseys and 19 National Hockey League jerseys from her stall in building D at the Rogers Sale. Workers are able to close the booth and leave merchandise inside when they leave, but she noted someone had pried off a piece of pegboard to access the inventory.

Rhea Tedrow, Steubenville Pike, Salineville, reported at 12:41 p.m. Friday that someone had broken out a small window next to a door on her home while she was not there. The window was next to the door handle, but the person did not appear to have gained entry and and nothing appeared to be missing.
