Maxine S. Davis, 85

CHESTER - Maxine S. Davis, 85, died peacefully at home early Sunday morning, Oct. 18, 2009, with her family by her side.

Born in St. Marys, W.Va., on Sept. 16, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Roy J. and Olive B. Pethel Adams.

Following graduation from St. Marys High School in 1944, she worked in various area potteries as a finisher, finally retiring as a timekeeper.

Maxine's deep faith was evidenced by her following and support of several television ministries and her attendance at the East Liverpool Church of God.

Preceding her in death was her first husband, Charles Huffman; second husband, Howard C. Davis; one son, Ronald G. Lauderman; one brother, Jacob Adams; three sisters, Sarah Mikes, Wilma Bennett and Helen Wherry; and a grandson John W. Wilson.

Survivors include one son, Arlis (Susie) Lauderman, of Port Haywood, Va.; three daughters, Judy (Gary) Anderson, of New Cumberland, Georgia (Gary) Casto and Robbyn Huffman Straight, both of Chester; a sister, Ruth Menough, of East Liverpool; two granddaughters, Michelle Miller and Tammy Martin; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, officiated by Pastor Donald Howell, followed by burial in Longs Run Presbyterian Cemetery.
