John Davis
CANTON - John A. Davis, 64, died 4:30 p.m. Friday at Arbors of Canton Nursing Home.
He was born Nov. 2, 1944 in East Liverpool, a son of the late Elwood and Elsie Reynolds Davis.
Davis was a veteran of U.S. Navy and served on the USS WASP during the Vietnam War. He was a truck driver.
He was a member of the Riley's Methodist Church.
He is survived by five sons, Stanley Davis, James Davis, Richard Davis, Robert Davis and John Davis, Jr. all of East Liverpool, Ohio; one brother, Alvin J. Davis; six sisters, Louise Morgan of Wellsville, Mary Bob Stinger of Bergholz, Donna Jean McNutt of Canton, Elsie Mae Duncan of Salineville, Mina Sue Bailey of Canton, Margaret "Chinck" Walters of Pa., and numerous grandchildren.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Riley's Methodist Church, state Route 39, Salineville, with Pastor Pat Smith officiating.
Family and friends may call from 1-3 p.m. before the service at Riley's Church.
Committal service and burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Corinth Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Mechanicstown, where full military honors will be accorded by the John Adams Post 442 Honor Guard.
Arrangements are being handled by the Kerr-Pastore-Weber Funeral Home in Salineville.
