In county Municipal Court on Tuesday, a Salem man pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of criminal damaging after the court dismissed a felony charge of vandalism against him.

Brock Ward, Washington Avenue, was sentenced to 86 days in the county jail and was fined $100 on the misdemeanor charge. Police took Ward into custody because he is a registered sex offender and allegedly broke parole by having children at his residence. While in the police cruiser, Ward kicked at the back passenger-side window twice, causing the frame to bend and the window to pop out of the frame.

Donald Franklin II, 38, Saltwell Road, was sentenced to 25 days in the county jail and was fined $250 for assault; restitution hearing Dec. 1. Franklin punched his ex-girlfriend, who was two months pregnant at the time, in the stomach.

Eric Gudat, 28, South Lincoln Avenue, was sentenced to 15 days in the county jail, was fined $825 and had his driver's license suspended for six months for OVI first offense, possession of drugs and improper backing.

Dominic Stacey, 23, East Washington Street, was sentenced to eight days in the county jail and was fined $100 for obstructing official business. Stacey ran into a house when law enforcement officials attempted to take him into custody on a Mahoning County warrant.

Pamela Scott, 34, Spaite Drive, East Palestine, was fined $400 and had her driver's license suspended for six months for drug paraphernalia and use of unauthorized plate.

Joshua Lamp, 25, Opal Drive, Wellsville, pleaded not guilty to driving under suspension and a seat belt violation.

Herbert Washington, 58, Boardman, pleaded not guilty to speeding; pretrial Dec. 8.

Nathaniel McVay, 27, Monroeville Heights, Salineville, was assessed costs only for improper passing and failure to display valid sticker.

In county Municipal Court on Thursday, a Salem man was placed on $50,000 bond on a felony charge of breaking and entering.

A preliminary hearing was set for Dec. 17 for Michael Hamilton, 20, Fourth Street, who is accused of breaking into the lot of Davidson's Towing, Salem.

Cory Witherow, 22, Steubenville Pike, was bound over to grand jury on a felony charge of forgery. Witherow is accused of cashing checks belonging to his grandmother on four separate occasions. The checks totaled $280.

James Turner, 36, Millrock Road, Rogers, was sentenced to 20 days in the county jail, fined $970, and had his driver's license suspended for one year for OVI first offense, driving under suspension, failure to control and no seat belt, passenger.

Joseph McDowell, 56, Lake Cheval, Wellsville, was sentenced to 20 days in the county jail, fined $675 and had his driver's license suspended for six months for OVI first offense and marked lanes.

Joshua Metzgar, 30, Goshen Road, Salem, was sentenced to 20 days in the county jail, fined $950 and had his driver's license suspended for six months for OVI first offense, driving under suspension and failure to control; review hearing March 9.

David Shingleton, 35, East Friend Street, Columbiana, was sentenced to three days in the county jail, fined $750 and had his driver's license suspended for six months for OVI first offense and marked lanes.

Eli Ratkovich III, State Line Road, Negley, pleaded not guilty to OVI first offense and lane violations; pretrial Nov. 16.

Mara McFarland, South Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was sentenced to five days in the county jail and was fined $200 for drug paraphernalia.

James Thomas, West Southern Avenue, Columbiana, was sentenced to one day in the county jail and was fined $200 for theft. Thomas took items from a barn in Columbiana.

Dustin Hamilton, 27, Damascus, pleaded not guilty to physical control; pretrial Dec. 8.

Timothy Crowe, 21, West Washington Street, pleaded not guilty to driving under suspension; pretrial Nov. 23.

Mark Schreckengast, 50, Alliance, was fined $200 for hit-skip.

Jennifer Baker, 32, Old Monroeville Heights, Salineville, was fined $150 for persistent disorderly conduct.

James Clutter, 31, Thomas Drive, Wellsville, was fined $100 for disorderly conduct, amended from domestic violence.

Robert Wagner, 38, East Chestnut Street, was fined $25 for disorderly conduct.

Robert Cochran Jr., 20, McCracken Road, Salem, was fined $100 for drug abuse.

Edith Kelly, 32, St. Jacob-Logtown Road, was fined $50 for speeding.

Andrew Shaffer, 34, West State Street, Salem, was fined $50 for speeding.

Cory Andric, 19, Whinnery Road, Salem, was fined $50 for unsafe vehicle, amended from peeling tires.

Jeremiah Fink, 20, Richardson Avenue, Negley, was fined $30 for traffic control devices.

In county Municipal Court on Friday, a Wellsville man pleaded not guilty to menacing.

A court trial is scheduled for Steven Reckner, 44, Givens Road, on the charge. Reckner is accused of threatening a man with physical harm when he dropped off his children at Reckner's home.

Lucas Ludwig, 24, Depot Road, Salem, pleaded not guilty to driving under suspension and two lights displayed; pretrial Nov. 9.

Amy Moore, 29, West Washington Street, pleaded not guilty to failure to reinstate license; pretrial Nov. 3.

Theren Pearson, 20, East Washington Street, pleaded not guilty to underage consumption; pretrial Nov. 5.

Tyler Payne, 24, Spring Creek, Pa., was fined $150 for speeding.
