CHESTER - Anna M. Jones, 78, of Sixth St. in Chester, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon at the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville where she had only been a patient since Thursday.

A daughter of the late Curtis and Rhoda L. Murry Daughtery, she was born on Dec. 12, 1930 in Elizabeth, W.Va.

Anna loved life and lived it to the fullest. She loved most of all her family and second, her church. She was an active member of the Virginia Avenue Church of Christ in Chester.

She had worked as a decorator at Homer Laughlin China and was a member of the TOPS in Newell and the American Legion Post 121 auxiliary in Chester.

Survivors include four daughters, Mary Schmidt and her husband, George of Georgetown, Mickie Barrett and her husband, Jerry of East Liverpool, Terry Walser of East Liverpool, Connie Hissam and her husband, Bob of Chester; one son, Curtis McGurren and his wife, Jenny of Chester; one sister, Leona Payne and her husband, Cletus of East Liverpool.

In addition there are 24 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

The family will be present to receive friends from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester where Evangelist Frank Higginbotham of the Church will conduct services at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Interment will follow at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell. On line condolences may be sent to arnerfc@arnerfuneralchapel.com.
