Workers to maintain trail
LISBON - The local chapter of the North Country Trail Association is having another work day for any interested in participating. The trail construction/maintenance detail is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Beaver Creek State Park campground on Leslie Road. Tools are provided, but participants should bring their own lunches and drinks.
Spot paving restricts state Route 11
LISBON - State Route 11 northbound will be restricted next week between the State Route 154 on-ramp and the State Route 164 overpass in Columbiana County.
Beginning Monday, ODOT's Columbiana County maintenance crews and Allied Corporation Inc., from Twinsburg, Ohio, will be performing spot paving on about four miles of State Route 11 northbound. One lane of traffic will be maintained.
Southbound lanes will not be affected.
This work is expected to take three days to complete and cost about $162,000.
Angel Food Ministries to take orders
EAST LIVERPOOL - Angel Food Ministries will be taking orders from 6-7 p.m. Oct. 2; from 6-7 p.m. Oct. 9; from 10-11 a.m. Oct. 10; and from 6-7 p.m. on Oct. 12 at the Church of God, 926 W. 8th St.
The Outreach Care Ministry will be serving a free meal from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Friday at the Church of God, 926 W. 8th St.
Senior Center to offer Heap applications
EAST LIVERPOOL - Heap applications are now available at Catholic Charities Senior Center, 600 E. 4th St. Appointments can be made if you need assistance filling out the forms. Contact Mary at 330-385-4732.
KSU offers entrepreneurship orientation
EAST LIVERPOOL Kent State University, Workforce Development is sponsoring Entrepreneurship, Inc., a two-hour orientation that provides information which can help you to follow the steps to provide a better opportunity for success. The program will be presented by the Small Business Development Center, which is located at the Tuscarawas Campus of Kent State University.
The presentation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15 at the East Liverpool Motor Lodge. The fee is $20 per person, which includes the textbook. If a partnership is planned, one $20 fee will be charged for the partners.
