YOUNGSTOWN - Ernest "Ernie" Bell, 74, of Youngstown, passed away Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at Hospice House.

Mr. Bell was born Dec. 9, 1934, in Mid-land, a son of Less and Mattie Coleman Bell.

A 1953 graduate of East Liverpool High School, he was a foreman for Packard Electric for 26 years, retiring in 1993.

He is survived by his wife, the former Lana Smith; a daughter, Desiree Hickman of Poland; four stepchildren, Susan Vaughn of Galloway, Ohio, Kevin Smith Sr. of Grove City, Ohio, Michael Smith of Melcroft, Pa., and Lori Frazier of Campbell, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Thom Bell of Kent, Ravanna Bell of Wellsville, Jerry Bell of Detroit, Mich.; and three sisters, Dolly Jones of Buffalo, N.Y., and Janet and Jeannette Bell of East Liverpool.

Friends may call Tuesday evening at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool from 6-8 p.m.; Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, 1951 McGuffey Rd., Youngstown.

Services will be Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home.
