Janoski’s to hold Farm City Days

CLINTON, Pa. - Janoski Farms on Route 30 in Clinton, Pa is having its second annual Farm City Days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, August 1-2. Admission is free and activities are endless. This is the perfect opportunity to leave the busy city life behind and enjoy a day on the farm. Mr. Janoski, owner of Janoski's Farm along with his wife JoAnn and family, has something planned to entertain the whole family. Hop on one of the hay wagons and take a tour of the farm. Along the way you will be able to see the crops growing and have the chance to stop and pick fresh vegetables right out of the field. Vegetables that will be sold by the peck basket include tomatoes, potatoes, peppers and onions.

They will have a petting zoo full of animals for the kids to see and pet. Along with a straw jump, pedal bike rides, face painting and more. Many community and agricultural booths will be set up for the entire family to enjoy, including the Findlay Township police, fire and ambulance, a real beekeeper, the 2009 Dairy Princess, the Pa. Beef Council, PASA, and also a surprise landing from life flight could happen at any time.

Saturday and Sunday bring a bag of non-perishable food items for the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank and receive a free gift.

Meet Axel, the Findlay Township K-9 from 2-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Axel and his owner, Neil will do demonstrations on how a K-9 is used to solve crimes on the police force.

The Hancock County Animal Shelter and Dr. Mark Faris will host a rabies clinic from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday. This clinic is only for dogs, which must be on a leash, and costs $6 a shot.

There will be many displays for the whole family to enjoy, garden tractors, farm tractors, and Janoski's very own pulling tractor collection. There's something for everyone to do young and old. All activities are free.
