EAST LIVERPOOL - Margaret E. "Peg" Cook, 92, formerly of Morton Street, died at 11 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2009, at the Adkins Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
Born April 1, 1917, in East Liverpool, a daughter of the late Thomas and Anne Anthony, she was a lifetime area resident. At one time she worked at the downtown Ogilvie's Department Store.
A member of the St. John Lutheran Church, she also belonged to the Crystal Chapter of the Eastern Star and the East Palestine Golf Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 1993 by her husband, James J. Cook.
Surviving is a son, James A. Cook and his wife, Loretta, of East Liverpool.
There is one grandson, Anthony P. Cook of Wheeling; and four great-grandchildren, Margaret Anne Cook, Stephanie Nicole Hudson, Sarah Elizabeth Cook and Anthony M. J. Cook Jr.
Also surviving is a nephew, David Anthony of East Liverpool.
Also preceding her in death were a grandson, Timothy J. Cook; three sisters, Ruth Staley, Ethel Burrows and Mildred Cunningham; and a brother, Norman Anthony.
The Rev. Eric Edwards of St. John Church is to conduct services at 3 p.m. Monday at the Dawson Funeral Home, where friends may call on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and also on Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
Burial is to be in Calcutta United Presbyterian Cemetery.
Family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center immediately following the service.
