EAST LIVERPOOL Ruth Mason, of Ninth Avenue, LaCroft, passed away at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009 at East Liverpool City Hospital. She was 80.

Born in East Liverpool on Oct. 6, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Robert Delmar Mason and Susie Thomas Mason. She had worked at the Homer Laughlin China Company as well as the Hall China Company, and later was associated with Westinghouse in Pittsburgh.

She attended the LaCroft Church of the Nazarene and loved golf and bowling.

Surviving Mason are five sisters: Mary Deyarmon of East Liverpool, June Ward and her husband, Edgar, of East Liverpool, Esther Williams of Bolivar, Ohio, Elene Hoffmanns of Merritt Island, Fla., and Theda Mason of East Liverpool.

There is also one brother, Pete Mason, of East Liverpool.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Holtzman, and four brothers, William, Willard, Robert and Richard Mason.

A memorial service to celebrate Ruth's life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15 at the Dawson Funeral Home with Rev. David Peterson of LaCroft Church of the Nazarene officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Following the service family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship. Burial will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery.
