EAST LIVERPOOL - The East Liverpool License Bureau will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, but will be closed Saturday due to the July 4 holiday. For questions, call 330-386-3322.

SALEM - The Humane Society of Columbiana County (HSCC) will host the RASCAL Unit, a mobile spay/neuter clinic, July 11-12 at 1825 S. Lincoln Ave. in Salem. Advance registration and payment required and applicants must qualify for participation based upon household income. Income verification is necessary in the form of pay stubs, or proof of current public assistance, such as U.S. Food Stamps, Ohio Medical Card, WIC, etc. Qualified residents must also provide a driver's license or other acceptable photo ID which confirms Columbiana County residency. For further information, or to schedule a spay/neuter appointment, residents should contact HSCC at 330-332-2600.

WELLSVILLE - The Wellsville Sons of Italy's Italian Festival Committee is accepting applications for rental space (vendors/crafters) for its festival Aug. 6-8. For information, call 330-532-3515.

CALCUTTA - The YMCA Calcutta Program Center has openings for the 2009-2010 preschool program. There are both ages 3-4 and 4-5 classes. For further information, call 330-382-1217 or 330-385-6400.

EAST LIVERPOOL - A benefit spaghetti dinner will be held for Joe DiBacco beginning at 5 p.m. July 21 at St. Stephen's Church. Cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children.

EAST LIVERPOOL - The HMG Playground will meet 10:30 a.m. to noon July 9 at Woodland Hills.

EAST LIVERPOOL - The East Liverpool Area YMCA is offering a 30-day complimentary membership for ages 62 and older. Orientation is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 13 at the Calcutta YMCA (330 385-6400) and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 14 at the downtown YMCA (330-385-0663). Call either YMCA to register. Registration limited.

EAST LIVERPOOL - The YMCA family campout is July 10 (rain date July 17) at the David T. Mason Child Care Center, 202 Maplewood Ave. Set up is 6:30 p.m. for the overnighter outside event.

CALCUTTA - The monthly meeting of the Parkinson Support Group is 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday at Calcutta Christian Church, 51049 Calcutta-Smith Ferry Rd. Dr. Robert Walker, Ed.D, psychologist, is guest speaker. Questions and discussion to follow. Refreshments served. This support group is for those touched by Parkinson Disease. WELLSVILLE - The Lamplighters of Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church, 17365 state Route 45, are hosting a barn dance 6-10 p.m. July 11 at the Wellington Farm. Don McCoy will call the square dance, while the Country Squares provide dancing music. Special guests include "The Singing Mailman," and Ali Ammon the 11-year-old singer and fiddler. Food will be served. Games, including corn hole, horse-shoe pitching, a cake walk, will take place. There will be a 50/50 raffle. The charge for this event is 4 per person, $2 for ages 6-12, and free for ages 6-under. Proceeds benefit the Building Fund at Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church. No alcoholic beverages.

SALINEVILLE - The Little Indians will hold a corn hole tournament July 11 at the Salineville Salt Festival, Kiwanis Park. The double elimination tournament costs $20 per team of two and benefits the youth football and cheerleading program. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and play begins at noon. SALEM - The Humane Society of Columbiana County is extending its reduced adoption fees for felines through July, to promote national Adopt a Shelter Cat Month. For more information contact the Humane Society of Columbiana County at 330-332- 2600.

EAST LIVERPOOL - The Alzheimer's Association will be holding its monthly Caregiver Support Groups 6:30 p.m. July 20 at First Presbyterian Church, 436 East 2nd St., Salem, and 6 p.m. July 22 at the East Liverpool Public Library. Guest speaker Liz Mulroy, education director from the Alzheimer's Association, will present "Opportunities for Communication."
