WELLVILLE - Lora L. Joy, 56, of Fife Cole Road Wellsville, died at home on Sunday, June 28, 2009, after a brief illness.

Living her entire life in this area, Joy was born in East Liverpool on May 12, 1953, the daughter of the late George and Dortha (Mathess) Hamilton.

She was a homemaker, a loving mother and grand mother, and was one of the original members and Secretary of the Wellsville Touch Down Club.

Survivors include her husband, Fred V. Joy Sr., who she married on Nov. 15, 1969. Two sons, Frederick Joy and his wife, Susan, of Wellsville and Jason E. Joy and his friend, Lana Ferguson, also of Wellsville; two granddaughters, Ashley and Tiffany Joy of Wellsville; four brothers, Russell Hamilton and his wife, Megan, of San Diego, Ca., Bill Hamilton of Huston, Texas, Keith Hamilton and his wife, Bobbi, and Skip Hamilton, all of Wellsville; three sisters, Jo Ann Billy of Bedford Heights, Ohio, Brenda Campbell and her husband, Harvey, of Alliance, and Cynthia McCune and her husband, Dave, of Beloit, Ohio.

Services will be held at the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dirk Hall of the Wellsville Nazarene Church officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
