Highway Patrol for 5-4-09

Lonnie Wilson, 20, 29549 Salem-Alliance Road, Salem, was cited with operating without reasonable control at 3 a.m., Saturday, after he reportedly was southbound on Slater Road in Butler Township and went off the right side off the roadway, striking an embankment. He then left the scene.

Crystal Geho, 39, 39150 Mattix Road, Lisbon, was eastbound on state Route 39 in Washington Township at 8:16 p.m. Wednesday when she struck a deer crossing the roadway. No injury was reported.

Don Bowles, 53, 641 W. North Ave., East Palestine, was westbound on Columbiana-Waterford Road just west of state Route 7 in Fairfield Township at 3:52 p.m. Wednesday when he swerved to avoid a dog and went off the right side of the road, striking a ditch.

Robert Miller, 51, Burton, Ohio, was cited with an unsecured load at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday after he northbound on state Route 9 in Butler Township after five pine trees he was hauling in the back of a pickup and on a trailer fell off on a curve. They had been held by a nylon rope. A nearby property owner helped Miller get the trees off the roadway.

Kenneth Fisher, 48, 38979 state Route 39, Salineville, was westbound on state Route 39 at 9:45 p.m., Saturday, April 25. He began to overtake another westbound vehicle and started to pass it, when the other vehicle swerved left of center and struck Fisher's vehicle. Fisher went off the left side of the roadway striking a mailbox, before overturning into a ditch. The other vehicle fled.
