Nicole Walker

ST. CLAIRSVILLE - Nicole Walker of Toronto recently was named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2008 semester at Ohio University-Eastern. A senior, she is an early childhood major.

Andrea Eisenhart

CALCUTTA - Andrea E. Eisenhart, 2008 graduate of Beaver Local High School and a freshman at Gannon University in Erie, Pa., has recently been accepted into the Phi Eta Sigma honory society.

Freshmen who have attained a 3.5 gpa or higher are invited to become a part of this organization. She has been named to the Dean's list for the fall 2008 semester.

A pre-med major, Eisenhart participates in the LECOM (Lake Erie College of Medicine) program that partners with Gannon University. She is also a member of the Gannon University Golden Knights Women's Soccer team, which won the PSAC regular season title this year.

Brooke Jackson

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Brooke M. Jackson, a freshman in the Mylan School of Pharmacy, daughter of Lori and Gale Jackson of East Liverpool, has been named to the Fall 2008 Dean's List at Duquesne University.

The Dean's List recognizes full-time students who have maintained at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Brooke's impressive achievement at Duquesne has also earned her the honor of being chosen for the Director's Circle. The Director's Circle, now in its nineteenth year, recognizes approximately 500 of this year's outstanding freshmen students. A reception will be held in the Duquesne University Ballroom to recognize those qualifying for this prestigious honor.

Brooke is a 2008 graduate of Beaver Local High School.

Owens Community College

PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP - More than 3,200 students were named to the Academic Honors List at Owens Community College for Fall Semester 2008. Students must achieve at least a 3.5 grade point average to be eligible for academic honors. Owens uses a 4.0 scale in grading. The following students were named from the local areas; Charles Saling of East Liverpool, Robert Crawford of Irondale, Steven Henry of Irondale, Blake Kazee, Jason Moore, Michael Thomas, Matthew Lawrence and Benjamin Persohn all of Wellsville.

Thiel College

GREENVILLE, Pa. 335 Thiel College students were recently named to the dean's list for the fall 2008 semester. A student must attain a grade point average (GPA) of 3.40 on a 4.0 scale while being enrolled full time to be eligible for the dean's list at the college. The following students from the local areas made the Dean's List; Gary Michael Whitlam, a Freshman of Wellsville, Sean Michael Kreefer, Senior of East Liverpool and Allison Nicole Wynn, Senior of East Liverpool.

Wittenberg University

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Wittenberg University, a prestigious liberal arts school located in Springfield, Ohio has recently selected students to the Dean's List for their academic achievement during the fall 2008 semester. The following students are from the local area, Erin McIlvain and Alexander Sitarik.

Nikki Cibula

LISBON - Nikki Cibula was named to the Fall 2008 Dean's List at Grove City College. Cibula is majoring in political science. The 2005 graduate of Beaver Local High School is the daughter of James and Lisa Cibula of Lisbon.

Ashley Lambo

WELLSVILLE - It is an honor to announce Ashley Lambo as the Lion's Club Student of the Month for January. Ashley is ranked fourth in the Class of 2009 with a GPA of 3.68. She is the daughter of Felipa Lambo of Wellsville.

Ashley has received the following awards: National Honor Society, A Honor Roll, 3.75 Honors Banquet, and Who's Who Among High School Students. Ashley has received awards for excellence in French I, French II, and French III.

Ashley has participated in many extracurricular activities during her time at Wellsville High School including Varsity Softball, Varsity Cheerleading, Band, Key Club, Leo Club, Thespians, Varsity W Club, Yearbook, and Spirit Club.

Ashley's community involvement includes volunteer work with the Red Cross Blood Drives, Unicef, and the Wellsville Beautification Committee.

Ashley plans to attend Loyola Marymount and study Mechanical Engineering.

Haylie Tedeschi

WELLSVILLE - Haylie Tedeschi has been named the Lions Club student of the month for February. She is ranked sixth in the class of 2009 with a GPA of 3.66. She is the daughter of Jackie Lawrence and Bruce Tedeschi of Wellsville.

Among Tedeschi's awards are National Honor Society, A Honor Roll, 3.75 Honors banquet, Who's Who Among American High School Students.

She has participated in many extracurricular activities during her time at Wellsville High School including WHS band, Student Council, Prom Committee and Future Teachers Association. She was a member of the Fall Homecoming Court and serves as co-president of the National Honor Society, Band President and FTA Secretary.

Tedeschi's community involvement includes Breakfast with Santa, Community Christmas Decoration Committee and Wellsville Beautification Committee Broadway Tree Project. She has also donated her time planting flowers for Memorial Day services. She is employed part time at Nick's Pizza.

She plans to attend Kent State University but her major is undecided.

Mount Union College

ALLIANCE The following students were named to the Dean's List for the 2008 Fall Semester at Mount Union College:

Sara Kirkbride, a sophomore early childhood education major, of Calcutta

Joseph Barbaree, a freshman, and Megan Winters, a sophomore early childhood education major, both of East Liverpool

Michael Brown, a sophomore sport business major, and Stacey Roberts, freshman, both of Wellsville.

To be named to the Dean's List, a student must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours of traditionally graded course work and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.550, with no course graded below a "B" (3.000).
