Highway Patrol on the lookout for hit-skip pickup
Review Staff ReportsEAST PALESTINE - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is searching for the owner of a pickup truck involved in a hit-skip traffic accident involving injuries, which occurred on Friday afternoon.
Ptl. Bill Sattler described the truck as a dark-colored, full-sized Dodge pickup truck with a Confederate flag painted on the tailgate.
According to Sattler, the driver of the truck, who remains unknown, was driving east on state Route 558 and stopped behind another vehicle for a red light at the intersection with state Route 7.
The light reportedly turned green and the driver of the other vehicle, Meredith Deichler, 26, Lisbon, reportedly started moving forward but then stopped because she believed she heard an emergency siren. The truck then reportedly struck her vehicle from behind before leaving the scene.
Deichler suffered minor back injuries as a result of the collision.
Sattler is asking anyone with information on the truck or its owner to contact him at the patrol's Lisbon post at 330-424-7783.
