Lois Patricia Bayer

WELLSVILLE - Lois Patricia Bayer, 80, of Wellsville, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at Kindred Hospital, in Beaver, after a lengthy illness.

She was born March 18, 1928, in East Liverpool, a daughter of the late Harry and Grace (Briggs) Vess.

Lois worked at the former Tastee Freeze in Wellsville and was a loving homemaker.

She was a 1946 graduate of East Liverpool High School, a member of the Lady Elks, and attended Trinity Presbyterian Church.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, James Melvin Bayer, who died on March 10, 1983. They were married July 5, 1946. A sister, Sue Vess Headlund, is also deceased.

Survivors include two daughters, Terri Welch and her husband Donny, of Wellsville, Vicki Mobley and her husband David, of Wellsville; one son, James Bayer and his fiance, Lisa Haddox of Wellsville; two sisters, Doris Jean Gailey of Midland, PA, JoAnn (Frank) Hilliard of East Liverpool; and seven grandchildren, David James Mobley, Ryan Mobley, Michele Lynn Stoffel, Zachary Welch, Jason Welch, Ava Welch and Nicklaus Bayer.

Four great-grandchildren, Devin Conkle, Jadin Lewis Welch, Killian Reed and Rowan Reed, also survive.

No visitation or funeral services are planned. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

The Roberts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
