EAST LIVERPOOL Kenneth Richard Adkins, 53, of St. Clair Avenue, died unexpectedly, at 1:19 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at his residence.
Born Feb. 12, 1955, in Akron, Ohio, a son of Geraldine Mae Adkins of East Liverpool and the late Toney Adkins, he was a lifetime area resident.
He had been employed at the Adkins East Liverpool Convalescent Center the past 40 years, starting at age 13.
A graduate of East Liverpool High School in 1974, he was an Elder at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a former member of the East Liverpool Elks Lodge 258.
His wife, Diana Lynn Adkins, survives at home.
Surviving are two daughters, Kimberly Ann Adkins of East Liverpool and Kaylee Anna Adkins at home; and two sons, Kristopher A. Adkins and Cody J. Adkins, at home.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Richard Adkins II, in 1999, and a daughter, Lindsey Nicole Adkins in 1995.
Also surviving is a sister, Janice Bowden and her husband, Stan, of East Liverpool.
There is one grandson, Zackery Richard Adkins of East Liverpool and one aunt, Doris Dunham of Chester.
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as several great nieces and nephews.
Elders of the church are to conduct services at 11 a.m. Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Burial is to be in Riverview Cemetery.
