CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. Kenneth W. "Bubbles" Lantz, 94, of Cranberry Twp., Pa., formerly of Chester, died at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Born Aug. 1, 1914, in Middlebourne, W.Va., a son of the late Marsh and Della Lantz, he had lived in Chester since 1935 and moved to Cranberry Township in March of 2008.
An employee of the former Crucible Steel, he retired in 1982. He was a member of the Christian Assembly in Industry, Pa.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 22 in New Cumberland, Commandry Knights Templar of Weirton and Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons of W.Va.
His wife, Edna Collins Lantz of Stone Pear Pavilion in Chester, survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Jeanene Smith and her husband, Warren, of Cranberry Township, and two sons, William D. Lantz and his wife, Shirley, of Alden, N.Y., and Michael A. Lantz and his wife, Hilda "Cookie," of Newport Richey, Fla.
There are nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grand daughter.
He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Hall, of Bridgeport, W.Va.; and two brothers, Ralph (Mabel) Lantz, of Weirton, and Marsh (Christal) Lantz, of Orlando, Fla.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a great-granddaughter, Sonia Marek, as well as six sisters and one brother.
Pastor William Anzevino of the church is to conduct services at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Dawson Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Burial is to be in Riverview Cemetery, where a Masonic service will be held, followed by a gathering at the Dawson Family Center.
