Wanda Mayhew, 78

EMPIRE - Wanda Mayhew, 78, of Empire, Ohio, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Trinity West.

She was born July 24, 1929, in New Cumberland, a daughter of the late Dude and Minnie Ward.

Wanda was a member of the VFW Post 3526 Ladies Auxiliary in New Cumberland, W.Va.

Surviving are her husband, George (Bob) Mayhew at home; four sisters, Doris Alander, Parsons, W.Va., Veleda Sponaugle, Chester, Mildred Siegman, New Cumberland, Terri Hudson, New Cumberland; four children, Harold Clark, New Waterford, David Grimm, East Palestine, Rob Williams, Empire, Bob Mayhew, Jr., Weirton; seven stepchildren, Eileen Swiger, Bob Mayhew, Craig Mayhew, Jill Gaston, Stanley Mayhew, Julie Chipps, Alan Mayhew, all of New Cumberland; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends on Monday, July 14, 2008, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Turley Funeral Home.

Services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Charles Thomas officiating.
