Lois Jean Chaney, 76

NEW CUMBERLAND - Lois Jean Chaney, 76, of New Cumberland, W.Va., passed away Thursday, July 10, 2008,at her residence following a brief illness.

She was born June 15, 1932, in West Union, W.Va., a daughter of the late Howard K. and Dorothy (McKinney) McIntyre. She is also preceded in death by her husband Marion Chaney and one brother Kenneth Lee McIntyre.

Lois was a Nurses Aide recently retiring from Sierra Manor. She was a member of the New Cumberland Christian Church, VFW Post No. 3526 Ladies Auxiliary and was a past Brickyard Bend Festival Queen.

Surviving are six children, Diana Hudson of New Cumberland, Brenda (Don) Greathouse of New Cumberland, Michael (Barbara) Hoder of Glen Burnie, Md., Annette (John) Diddle of East Liverpool, Joseph J. (Donna) Hoder of East Liverpool, Michelle Chaney of of New Cumberland; one step-son, Ralph (Sue) Chaney of New Cumberland; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received Saturday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Turley Funeral Funeral Home.

Services will be there Saturday, July 12, 2008, at 8 p.m. with Pastor Rick Tinsky officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice, 380 Summit Avenue, Steubenville, Ohio 43952 or Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northern, W.Va. 3711 Morgantown Ind. Park, Morgantown, W.Va. 26501-2347.
