Thomas W. Snyder, 70

Born in Wellsville on Dec. 3, 1937, he was a son of the late Roy Wesley and Grace Elizabeth Snyder.
Living his entire life in this area, he attended the former Washington School, graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1956 and was a member of the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association.
He later graduated from the Steubenville pipefitter’s apprentice school in 1960 and worked out of the Plumbers and Pipefitter’s Union Local 495 in Cambridge until his retirement in January of 2000.
He was a member of New Hope Community Church in Wellsville that he loved dearly and helped build. At the church, he was a past elder, trustee and Sunday school teacher.
He is survived at home by his wife, Diana Clendenning Snyder, whom he married Sept. 26, 1959.
They were proud parents of three daughters, Lisa Snyder and her husband, Tom Brenny, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Leah Haustman and her husband, Randy of East Liverpool and Lesley Stinson of East Liverpool.
There are four wonderful grandchildren who he loved dearly, Kyle and Jordan Stinson, and Hannah and Matthew Haustman.
He was a wonderful grandfather who enjoyed taking his grandsons camping and fishing and his granddaughters out to dinner and shopping. He was truly a family man, who loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
One sister, Pat Allison of Wellsville survives.
Also surviving are six brothers: George Snyder and his wife, Kay, Bob Snyder and his wife, Irene, Claude Snyder and his wife Mary, Don “Doc” Snyder and his wife, Ella, Norman Snyder and his wife, Ruth, and Clarence “Duke” Snyder.
He also leaves a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Charlotte and Gary Burton of East Liverpool, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Janet and John Martin of Chiefland, Florida, and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Blaine and Maxine Clendenning of Uniontown, Ohio. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his three best buddies: Tom Excell, Bob Bartholow and Tim Van Fosson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roy W. Snyder.
Tom loved antique cars and at one time had a 1936 Pontiac and a 1918 Hudson. He currently has a 1953 Studebaker that he loved. He enjoyed antique bicycles and made each of his grandchildren their own bike.
He was a charter member of the Contemporary Historical Vehicle Association. He was also a member of the Studebaker Club.
Friends may call Thursday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. Pastor Dan Ferraro of New Hope Community Church is to conduct services at 1 p.m. Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home.
Burial is to be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Wellsville.

Tom was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend and neighbor and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
