Lisbon girls track sweeps quad meet

COLUMBIANA — The Lisbon girls track team had all the right moves Monday in a quad meet with Crestview, Leetonia and Heartland Christian.

The Lady Blue Devils were first with 111 points, followed by Crestview (75), Leetonia (29) and Heartland (five).

On the boys side, Crestview ran away from the competition with 134 points with Lisbon finishing second (65), followed by Leetonia (29) and Heartland (10).

Lisbon’s Kim Shafer ended the day with a first, second and third-place finish.

Shafer was tops in the 100 hurdles (18.5), second in the 100 (14.3) and third in the 300 hurdles (51.5).

The Lady Blue Devils had five other individual winners, including Kim Daniels (shot put, 32-0), Jessica Thompson (1600, 7:31), Lyndsey Ward (400, 69.4), Jen Catlett (300 hurdles, 51.5) and Maddy Miller (800, 2:57).

The 400 relay team (Tucker, Beuthien, Votaw, Catlett, 55.9) and the 1600 team (Ward, Votaw, Catlett, Stacy, 4:43) also finished first for Lisbon.

For the boys, Dana Rose and John Toolis were the top performers for Lisbon. Rose claimed the Blue Devils only first-place finish with a time of 23.9 in the 200.

Rose also finished second in the 100 (11.3).

Toolis didn’t have any top finishes, but took second in the long jump (17-7), second in the 300 hurdles (43.2) and third in the 110 hurdles (17.5).
