Joel Paolo
Joel Paolo is ranked as number 26 in the nation among high school wrestlers, placed fifth at the West Virginia state match in 2007 and 2008 and placed fourth in the OVAC wrestling tournament this year. “Wrestling is my favorite thing to do pretty much,” Paolo said. Paolo, an incoming junior at Oak Glen High School, said he has always wanted to wrestle for them because of all their team has achieved. He is a two-year Varsity letterman and played football both his freshman and sophomore years for the Bears. In addition, Paolo maintains a 4.0 grade point average. Paolo has attended wrestling camps at Penn State University and Clarion University to improve and practices three days each week in Canonsburg. He also said he enters into open tournaments to help himself continue improving. “I’ve learned a lot of responsibility from wrestling . . . I have to be on time and make weight and it takes up a lot of time,” Paolo said.
