Ice showed heart of a champion
COLUMBUS — Though he came up short in the state finals, Dylan Ice displayed the heart of a champion. Saturday night, Beaver Local’s Ice displayed a lot of courage as he stepped on the mat to wrestle Oak Harbor’s Ian Miller in the finals of the 145-pound weight class at the OHSAA Division II State Wrestling Tournament at Value City Arena inside the Jerome Schottenstein Center on the campus of Ohio State University. Though he was less than 100 percent, Ice stepped on the mat against Miller, and he put up a fight, but in the end Miller was able to defeat Ice by technical fall, 19-4. “Crappy,” Ice responded after being asked how he felt after the match. “I lost. Oh well. I got second. I did better than last year. That was my goal.” The injuries Ice sustained earlier in the tournament affected him in his match with Miller. “Sore,” Ice responded after being asked about his physical condition.
