Even my mom can use the iPhone, and like it
Yes, I will admit it. I was one of those crazies that waited in line for the new iPhone 3G on the morning of July 11. I didn’t camp out overnight, nor did I wake up at the crack of dawn to get it. But I did make a conscious effort to wake up early, hours before work, and make it to the nearest AT&T store as it opened at 8 a.m. Now, I could rattle off the various specs and the thousand things the new iPhone could do, but I’ve come to find it’s the simple things, and not the nerdiest ones, that make me glad I waited about two hours in line. I really think this phone can be for the masses and not just the technology geeks — you know, the ones who will stand in line for hours just for a cellphone. When I think of the phrase “for the masses” I tend to think of, “how would my mom or dad use the iPhone?” Once I thought about it, I actually came up with some really good aspects that old ma and pop might enjoy.
