Genealogy Fair

CHESTER - Genealogy Pit Stop is hosting its first Genealogy Fair from noon until 3 p.m. on Saturday in the multi-purpose room of the Chester Municipal Building. Volunteers and local genealogists will display information on early families of Hancock County and the Tri-State area. Some of the families included are Allison, Stewart, Pugh, Cunningham, Baker, Marshall, Roach and Linduff. There will also be a digital slide show of old area photos and postcards. The Municipal Building has lots of history on display in the showcases and photos along the halls. This event is open to the public and admission is free. If you arenát quite sure how to go about recording your family history, this is an excellent opportunity to see several ways of record keeping and to ask the questions to get you started.
